Noah's Ark 2011 1oz silver coin is a brand new release by the Republic of Armenia, being issued in 2011, and it commemorates Mt. Ararat and Noah's Ark as the title of this silver coin suggests, which are depicted on the reverse.

Even though we said in the first paragraph that this Armenian silver coin is a commemorative it was not marketed in this sense. Noah's Ark 2011 1oz silver coin is only to be perceived as a bullion coin, destined to investments. This fact is also sustained by a more intensified mintage compared with silver commemorative coins, which are characterized by a scarcer mintage.

Noah's Ark 2011 1oz silver coin weighs 31.10 grams of pure silver or one troy ounce. Since we mentioned the term pure silver it is understood that it has a 99.90% purity or 999/1000 fineness. It also has a diameter of 38.5 mm, slightly higher than that of the Canadian Maple Leaf which has 38 mm and slightly lower than the 40 mm diameter of the Mexican Libertad silver coin.

The obverse of a Noah's Ark 2011 1oz silver coin has engraved the Armenian coat of arms together with the denomination 500 DRAM, the weight and the purity 1 OZ Ag 999 and the issuing country REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA at the bottom of the reverse, and inscribed also in Armenian at the top of Noah's Ark 2011 1oz silver coin in a semicircle.

The reverse of a Noah's Ark 2011 1oz silver coin illustrates Noah's Ark and in the background Mt. Ararat together with the famous white dove with an olive branch in his beak that announced the end of the flood. The only inscription is NOAH'S ARK in both languages.
