This particular 50 Gram Argor Heraeus Gold bar features a unique Kinebar technology. It was introduced by the firm in 1993 and includes a hologram on the surface of the bar (known as kinegram) . It is an optical security design which is based on light diffraction. This hologram is present on the reverse of the coin and the design also contains the letters AH for the logo of the company and the refinery name Argor-Heraeus. It will appear to you with different shapes and colours according to the angle you are looking at.
The obverse face of the 50 Gram Argor-Heraeus Kinebar Gold Bar features the logo of Argor-Heraeus. It can be found at the top of the bar, along with inscriptions of the nation of production (Switzerland), weight(50 gr), metal content (gold), and purity(999.9). Each bar also has its own, unique serial number inscribed on this side of the gold bar. At the bottom of the inscriptions features the assayer’s mark too.
Argor-Heraeus is renowned as one of the most active mints worldwide and is an essential supplier for international banks and bullion houses refining silver, gold, platinum and palladium. Argor-Heraeus was founded in Chiasso, Switzerland, in 1951 and its headquarter is now in the town of Mendrisio in Swiss Canton of Ticino, close to the Italian border. The company eventually merged with UBS and the German Heraeus Group in 1973 and now generates 23 billion in revenue, employing 15 000 people in 40 countries! Quite a pedigree !
