2 oz Queen's Beasts White Lion Silver Coin (2020)
The Queen’s Beasts are ten representative animals and British emblems that are demonstrative of Queen Elizabeth II’s hereditary. Amongst the Queen’s Beasts is the famous White Lion or Mortimer which supports a shield which has been part of the Royal Coat of Arms since the accession of Queen Victoria in 1837. The beasts, standing at 6 feet tall, guarded the entrance to Westminster Abbey on the day of the Queen's coronation in 1953. They represent the long heritage and history Queen Elizabeth II inherited that day.
As part of the Royal Mints collection since 2016, the Queens Beasts White Lion is an accurate portrayal of history along with the country’s current royal status. The coin features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse and the fierce White Lion of Mortimer on its reverse. Both sides designed by the famous Jody Clark.
The coin contains 2 oz of pure .9999 fine Silver and holds a face value of £5. The 2020 2 oz silver White Lion Silver Coin can be used as legal tender and, as such, is VAT Free and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) exempt.
