Perth Mint started producing this exciting series of silver coins for Marvel Comics in 2017 with the release of the Spiderman coin. The second coin in the series celebrates Thor, the God of Thunder and is legal tender on the island of Tuvalu.
Details of the coin:
The reverse of the 2018 1 oz silver coin depicts Thor wielding his infamous hammer. The obverse features Queen Elizabeth II’s famous portrait. Her effigy was created by Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998.
The Perth Mint opened in 1899 and quickly surpassed the mints in both Sydney and Melbourne.
