Queen’s Beasts Gold Coins

The Queen’s Beasts coin collection is inspired by hundreds of years of tradition and heritage. Royal Mint artist Jody Clark has skilfully reimagined the 10 golden heraldic statues that were present when HM Queen Elizabeth II was crowned at Westminster Abbey in 1953.

Each beast carries the coat of arms of a noble house associated with the monarchy and signifies power, lineage, and loyalty. Queen’s Beasts coins have a millesimal fineness of 999.9/1000 making them some of the purest gold coins on today’s market.

As a trusted distributor for the Royal Mint, we are delighted to offer customers both 1oz and 1/4oz coins. As with all legal tender British Gold Coins, Queen’s Beasts gold coins are VAT Free and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) exempt.”

The history of Queen’s Beast coins

The Queen’s Beast coin series is a beautiful and majestic collection, designed to celebrate the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

Each of the 10 heraldic statues that stood at the entrance of Westminster Abbey in 1953 for Her Majesty’s coronation have been beautifully reimagined by Royal Mint designer Jody Clark and will feature on the series of gold and silver coins. The obverse side features the fifth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, also designed by Clark.

Each beast symbolises an aspect of British heritage and tradition, proudly holding a badge or arms that represents a family associated with royal ancestry. Myth and history come together to form a beautiful collection that will be treasured for generations to come.

The finished collection will include gold 1 oz and 1/4 oz denominations, along with 2 oz and 10 oz silver coins. The first coin, the Lion of England, was released in March 2016, with subsequent coins to be released each year and the entire set predicted due to complete in 2020.

How much are gold Queen’s Beast coins worth?

While each of the coins in the Queen’s Beast collection has an assigned face value, the actual value of the coin reflects many different factors – primarily the current price for gold.

The 1 oz coin has a £100 face value and the 1/4 oz coin has a £25 face value, but the true worth of the coin is based on its weight, the purity of the metal used, and the general collectability of the coin itself.

Each coin is made to the highest Royal Mint standard, using the finest .9999 gold, and the historical significance of the prestigious design makes the Queen’s Beast gold coins a prime choice among collectors and investors alike.
