20 Französisch Franc Marianne Hahn | Gold | 1899-1914
Ursprünglich als Umlaufmünze geprägt, ist die 20 Francs Marianne Hahn Goldmünze heute eine beliebte Anlagemünze mit einer Reinheit von 900/1000. In der Münze sind 5,81 Gramm bzw. 0,1867 Feinunzen reines Gold verarbeitet. Das Gesamtgewicht, inklusive dem Gewicht der Legierung, beträgt 6,45 Gramm. Die Münze hat einen Durchmesser von 21mm und ist 1,3mm dick. Dank der Legierung zeichnet sich die Münze durch eine hohe Kratzfestigkeit aus und ist daher auch bei Sammlern beliebt.
Mit ihren beiden Motiven - der Marianne und dem Hahn - sind auf der Münze zwei der französischen Nationalsymbole abgebildet. Marianne personifiziert das bürgerliche Frankreich und ist zugleich das Antonym zur Francia oder Gallia, die das monarchistische Frankreich darstellte. Eine der bekanntesten Darstellungen der auch als Statue und Büste weit verbreiteten Marianne ist wohl die des Malers Eugène Delacroix auf seinem berühmten Gemälde "die Freiheit führt das Volk". Auch der Hahn ist schon lange mit Frankreich verbunden, wobei die Herkunft dieser Verbindung im Nebel der Geschichte verborgen liegt. Wahrscheinlich hängt sie mit der Doppeldeutigkeit des lateinischen Begriffs Gallus (Gallier und Hahn) zusammen.
