In 2016, the 1/4 oz Gold Panda was replaced with the 8 gram Gold Panda, in order to be minted according to the metric system. The Gold Panda series is also one of very few to vary its design each year. Each year sees variations in font size, size of date and even the design of the temple. Thus the annual changes made to the Gold Panda series has seen the price of the coin appreciate over time, making it a favourible investment for collectors.
Coin Highlights:
- Contains 8 grams of .999 fine Gold.
- Each coin comes sealed in the original plastic as issued directly from the People's Bank of China.
- Obverse: Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests in the Temple of Heaven in Beijing encircled by "People's Republic of China" in Chinese closed off by the year of issue, 2020.
- Reverse: Panda cub eating bamboo.
