30g China Panda Gold Coin (2020)
When thinking of China you may also think of the symbolic Chinese Panda. In Chinese culture, pandas are a symbol of friendship and peace. They have held an important place in history and culture since the Xizhou and Ming Dynasties which date back as early as 1030 BC. During these times the panda was described as an invincible animal and its pelts were often given as tribute to kings and emperors. It was often thought that the panda had special medicinal and healing powers that could repel plagues and prevent illnesses.
The symbolic importance of the panda makes this coin an internationally recognised treasure. This coin was first released in 1982 by the People's Bank of China when they decided to have the first Chinese investment coin minted.
