Our Most Popular Silver Coins at coininvest.com

By StoneX Bullion

Ever wondered which products are most frequently purchased at https://stonexbullion.com and why? Welcome to our first edition of ‘Most Popular’, kicking off with silver coins.

To begin, let’s discuss silver coins in general.

Prospective silver buyers are often advised to purchase investment coins, also known as bullion coins, rather than bars or ETFs backed by precious metal. Why is this? Well, they can be easily handled by banks, precious metal traders, or investors at any time around the world. What’s more, silver is seen as affordable for the average investor, you can get started without breaking the bank!

Let’s take a look at our most popular coins at https://stonexbullion.com.

Silver Britannia Coins

What are they?

Introduced in 1997, the silver Britannia was the first-ever European Silver Investment coin! Following the examples of its predecessors from across the Pond, the Maple Leaf (more information to follow), and the American Eagle, the introduction of a British coin seemed to be an obvious choice. The original Britannia silver coins had a silver purity of 0.958 which changed to an increased fineness of 0.9999 pure silver, back in 2013.

Britannia, the female warrior who represents the island of Great Britain, has long been a symbol of unity and greatness. She first appeared on British coins in 1672 and is depicted on the Gold and Silver bullion coin series, with new releases on an annual basis from the Royal Mint.

Why should I invest?

Due to the certainty and economic stability of silver, the 1 oz Britannia silver coin represents a silver investment which is portable, sought after, and traded with ease. For those of you in the UK, this coin is exempt from Capital Gains Tax due to its UK legal tender status.

Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coins

What are they?

The Canadian Maple Leaf silver coin is one of the world’s most popular choices for collectors and investors and is arguably the bestselling silver coin on a global scale. Produced by the Royal Canadian Mint, it is the official silver sovereign coin of Canada.

Making their debut in 1988, the reverse of the coin depicts a sugar maple leaf, the iconic symbol of Canada representing unity, tolerance, and peace. The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. The maple tree’s significance dates back to pre-colonial times when Canada’s indigenous people used it as an important food source. The historical meaning and strong symbolism stand for important values the Canadian people aim to represent.

Why should I invest?

The Canadian Maple Leaf silver coin is regarded as one of the most beautiful designs in the world. The coin is one of just a few to contain 1 full troy ounce of silver (31.1034768g).

Australian Silver Kangaroo

What are they?

This coin from the prestigious Perth Mint first appeared in 1993 and depicts a Kangaroo - the famous marsupial native only to Australia. Also found on the Australian Coat of Arms alongside the Emu, the kangaroo is a symbol of progress as they are physically incapable of moving backward.

This coin celebrates the unique relationship between Australia and the United Kingdom, with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse side and the universally recognised kangaroo on its reverse.

Why should I invest?

The 1 oz Australian Silver Kangaroo contains one troy ounce of silver and can be used as legal tender in Australia. Each coin also includes a security feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter within the design.
